What Customers Say About XM101 Sportscaster Headset with XM Antenna & Portable Battery Kit:

This is the 5th head set I have purchased. They last about 6 mos. & then sthe antenna lead breaks.
Eventually the wires inside the cable break, and the headphones won't work anymore. When it works, this is a nice low-end portable XM unit. The Sportscaster will just display "Check Antenna". The major drawback is the heaphones. The cable that plugs into the Sportscaster receiver is not very sturdy. Since the headphones have the XM antenna inside, you can't just replace them with somethng else. When my first set of these headphones stopped working, the company replaced them under warranty. Now that the second set has stopped working, I gave up and purchased a different XM receiver rather than invest any more money in this poorly designed product.
They are also very uncomfortable. This is probably the 4th Sportscaster headset that I have ordered. The previous 3 just quit working after a few months each. I would buy another headset design if it were available. I like my XM Receiver but the headphones are clearly the weak link.
I had used an xm2go portable unit in the past with an added external antenna. Fast forward to newer generation equipment and you get a reasonably priced headset/antenna with removable battery that works just like a charm with the equally reasonably priced Sportscaster. It was first generation equipment and it didn't work unless the unit and the antenna were fixed in location, hence no portability for walking. It just didn't work when I tried to use the service while I was out moving around. Now you can really be portable. I give this an enthusiastic two thumbs up.
